Dr. B V V Subrahmanya has done his B.Sc and, B.E from Bangalore University; did his M.E and Ph.D from Indian Institute of Science Bangalore. He has over three decades of Teaching, Research and Industrial experience of high standing. He has guided a number of postgraduate students including doctoral students during his illustrious career. He has published several research papers in international, national journals and conferences. He has participated in number of International/National conferences, workshops, seminars in various capacities such as chairman of sessions, invited speaker, panelist, etc. He is a Consultant for a number of public/private sector projects and he has authored a couple of books for UG course on Structural Analysis, Numerical Methods and Management Science published by reputed publishers. He has served as member of the board of studies , board of examiners, and also in the LIC committee for a couple of terms in Visvesvaraya Technological University& Bangalore University and other autonomous colleges apart from deemed universities. He is a member of Institution of Engineers, Indian Society of Technical Education, and a member of the Indian Geotechnical Society. He is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Civil Engineering and also an advisor to the department.
